So Happy I Could Scream!
The Motherhood Musical
Book by Judy Freed, Music by Sari Miller, Lyrics by Randi
Wolfe, Additional Lyrics by Sari Miller.
Synopsis
Performed by four women of varying ages and ethnicities,
So Happy I Could Scream! transports the audience through
the twists and turns, delights and dilemmas, rewards and
regrets of parenting. From losing control with a tantruming
toddler to panicking at the prospect of a parent-teacher
conference – from staving
off unwanted child-rearing
advice to struggling to
accept the choices of
grown children – from
trying to rekindle long-lost
marital passion to trying to
shield kids from the
heartbreak of divorce – this
musical celebrates the
transformative moments
of motherhood with humor
and insight.
Featuring an upbeat mix of contemporary song styles,
scenes and monologues, So Happy I Could Scream! will
appeal to parents of all ages – and the children who love
them.
